Hy guys,
I have some problem with ignition timing,
I am setted 6 degrees static timing advance with my strobe light, but i am still hearing a little pinging sound when i am accelarating. I am using 98 octane fuel as it requares.
Maybe there is different ignition timing that you are setting to avoid pinging? Or someone tried to use fuel additive to increase octane number with your fuel?

are you settign the timign with the vacuum tube to the distributor disconnected and plugged? if not thats probably why

as ussualy i am disconecting it, like you said,
i bought new rotor the older one with rev limiter, i will try to fit it. maybe it will help a little

can you confirm the part numbers on the side of the distributor? 98 ron petrol is more than good enough for the GTI on stock setting, you can usually add a few more degrees than standard even

yep thats the correct DX/EV code dizzy. have a good look for air leaks then get the idle and mixture settings looked at
