Having ordered the 17mm hex socket I need to order 2 ltrs of oil but which type would be
better suited to a vehicle that’s done 104,000 miles ?
Thanks

Changed the gear oil after doing the seal using Morris Lodexol Gearbox Oil 80/90w from heritage, about 1000 miles done since, all good.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Yes I was going to buy 3L so I had some spare just in case of spillage / top up but it worked out cheaper to buy 5L with postage included £37.30Briano1234 said
5L. it only takes 2L to refil a manual.

On the gear oil that I used there was a spout on the top, to that I affixed a vinyl tube once,
On a side note if you place your oil in a pot of HOT water for a few minutes, it will be easier to pour.
Notice I said "IF you can Easily remove your speedo cable" as it can be a PITA to remove so take care.
Some like me never had an issue removing the Speedo cables on my 81 diesel Golf's 4 or 5spd transmission for 20 years, and my 90 Cabriolet. I did tend to Jack both wheels up, place in 1st gear and spin the wheels forwards and back wards a bit to release any gear bind just in case, or I was blessed with nice cables.
On my 92, and 93 cabbies they were Auto's and that is a horse of a different color.
