Advice needed on mounts.
I have a 1.3 mk1 which has had I believe a 1.8 8v top end and a 2l 16v bottom end apparently it was a common swap.
If I now wanted to go down the 1.8t bam engine route would I need a mount kit if so would it be a mk2 or mk3 kit or would the mounts need moving and then would an additional kit be required? I'm abit blind on what would is needed without having the engine to line up ect.
Any help would be appreciated thanks

So when going from 1.3 small block to 1.8/2.0 big block the engine side mount welded to the chassis needs moving, yours must have been done as you already have a big block engine fitted… Then you need a set of epytec or other make of engine / gearbox mounts. These fit the turbo engine and 5 speed box to the original golf chassis mounts.. Will mention when i did this conversion a few years ago , forget make of conversion mounts but i had to modify the rear g/box mount as it didnt fit at all. If wanting to fit 6 speed box i have no experience with this…

Not sounding stupid but im looking to go for the 225 bam engine but only just realised they only come in quattro or so im led to believe, how do you get around not being 4 wheel drive like the 180bhp engines? Or is there intact non quattro models?
