Morning gents.
I want to fit an early steering wheel to my later '85 cab.
Both small spline so off to a flying start.
The problem is the way the horn connects.
Pictures speak a thousand words so:
Heres what i have on my car when the wheel is off;
Back of the stock wheel;
All stock stuff.
Here is what hope to make work;
Of course those horn contact prong/spring things foul the current set up.
I have cable tied them up and out off the way so i could bolt it up.
Not ideal.
Any thoughts?

The wheel is from an early Passat? Or Scirocco?
Anyone have a pic of how it works on them?

I think perhaps with some cutting and glueing the ring from my old T25 wheel might work...

Subject to confirmation I think your wheel is as you say originally from the B1 Passat, and possibly exclusive to the TS model. It may have been in early Scirocco TS's also.
I think it's made by Petri, you'll see similar, less dished wheels on Opel's, BMW's etc. of the same period.
Your hub also appears to be for the Passat, I doubt there'd be an easy way to convert it to Golf fitment, so you'll have to source a new hub.
Petri's unfortunately have an unusual bolt pattern.
I've had a quick look and you're possibly wanting hub number 1140, but I'm not that familiar with Petri's so do more research before committing.
Here's a link to a PDF that gives Petri hub numbers, might be a starting point…

Google 'Petri 1140 lenkrad nabe', (German for steering wheel hub) for more info/images of what you need.

Success!
All bolted up with fully working horn.
As I thought the horn connect ring from an old T25 wheel was the answer.
Did a bit of cutting and grinding and just like a scout leader "beep repaired"
