Distributor

I seem to reaping a load of problems recently. I have partly resolved the issue with wiper motor so many thanks for your input. To reiterate O have a three door 1983 Mk1 Hatch GT with a 1.8 Carb engine. I had issues with distributor cap and rota - arm  so decided to change for a complete unit. When it arrived I found that connector lead and plug were different. So I assume there are more than one type.So is there anyone with a new distributor and connection lead. Living in Llandovery West Wales I can't seem to find any agency which reconditions.
