Cutting out on heavy breaking

Hi guys

So….
I have had a reoccurring issue of cutting out in my mk1 gti cabby
It cuts out if I leave it running for long periods of time not moving and if I am very heaving on the breaks I have just changed to many parts to mention now I’m looking at the fuse board
I have had a feel and the relay which I believe is the load reduction relay is getting really hot I took this out with the car running and it cut out straight away

What’s the chances this is my fault

If so most of the numbers have rubbed off it could anyone help me to buy the right one

Load reduction only works in the Starter is running mode.

Don't think it is that.

Bad Grounds, Vacuum leaks come to mind first.

Could be a problem with your carb flooding after heavy braking…I'm no expert though!

That would be one of the many ground issues I was thinking of.
