Got carb off last night and found the base rubber mount was split and the short rubber vac hose on carb to it's diaphragm was split. Also when driving the vac pipe off carb to airbox was sucking flat. What's best to replace that short pipe with and the other vac pipe and why would it suck flat??

I'm running one of these aluminium plates on my 1.8 Clipper and DMTL without issues.
Are you running standard airbox or aftermarket? Note that Weber carb sits a bit higher than the OE Pierburg and so the front bracket on cam cover that secures the airbox needs to be raised up by around 15mm or so - otherwise the rubber mount between carb and inlet manifold may be subject to undesirable twisting leading to premature failure.
