Hi mate

Yes I'm sure it is, the valve site in the middle of 2 rubber hoses before it goes through the bulkhead?

This is the one I got for my 83 GTI,  doesn't have an A at the end of part number but says fits the 1.8 , was perfect in mine.

On my Mk2 Scirocco I've changed it for the Mk2 Golf version. It's a slightly larger diameter pipe and the fixings are slightly different. You cab cut some of the fixings off the old pipe and move them over.

You can buy a rubber cap and cap off the end that you don't want or:

Remake a new out of thick wall copper pipe, and solder the connections that you require, you can flare the ends so that they take the hoses or solder on barbed fittings to hold the hoses as well.  Where the pipe attached to the flanges you can use Steel, and have it silver soldered to the pipe…
