Help with mounts
What I thought would be an easy task is turning into a disaster ..
Simply put - how do I get gearbox side mount bracket off as bolts hit inner arch and won't fully pull out - is this only possible if I remove gearbox altogether ?
Secondly - removed lower rear engine wedge mount and engine must if twisted about it and no matter what I do I can't line the new one back up
Would love some advice

Ok so I've slept on it …
Gearbox mount - push bolts out far enough to be able to cut heads off then pop out to engine side .. bracket off and use new bolts for refit with bolt head engine side
Just need to get wedge mount back in this morning

I have used a engine support for years and never had issues with removing any of the mounts as the engine is supported from the top, and moved to the proper position.
This is a version of it as I needed it a tad taller to get leverage. I normally used 2X10's on the fender rails.
I have used this for major Engine work for years as in dropping a crank, removing heads, and replacing deceased motor mounts.
Using ratcheting straps also work when I have to totally drop a tranny, but Turn Buckles are the bomb and allow for fine adjustments in height. when replacing mounts or removing them.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thankyou

I had a Jack and Jack stands underneath so that was cool !
For completness and anyone else struggling like I did with the rear wedge - I did the following :
- Bolted wedge mount to the crankcase bracket first
- left lower under neath bracket off
- bolted bracket to crankcase compete with wedge
- crammed a crowbar in the gearbox mount to widgey the engine to line up
- then bolted up lower bracket to underside and onto the wedge mount ..
Seemed easy vs the way I was previously doing it ha ha
