Cabrio arch fill piece, bumper to wing

Post

Hi,
finally got the Rivage back from the disaster of a 'specialist' repair shop after two years and one day. Just gave up and cut my losses.
Slowly working my way through all of the faults with it and replacing all the parts he broke/lost etc.

One thing that is killing me - there is a triangular fillet piece that sits in the front of the front wheel arches and links the rear of the front bumper to the outer edge of the arch / the wheel arch liner. Can't find it on ETKA or online with descriptive searches.
Any part numbers / spare / templates etc or am I making some?
Thanks, Chris.

Hi thanks for the reply.
You mean part of the black plastic arch liner? My arch liner is in place and ends along the wing line. Could be the wrong arch liner I guess - the ETKA number for arch liner with large bumpers is 155809957/8A, all the liners I can find for sale online are 155809961/2A.

The 155809961/2A do not seem to have the extra piece at the front to attach to the bumper rear edge..?

Thanks, Chris.

(Tried to edit the fonts here to tidy but web interface failed me…)

Need both for the front, bumpers are currently not fixed at the rear at all.
Either the fillet piece or a complete inner arch which extends out of the metal wing arch and fixes to the back edge of the bumper.
I don't understand why ETKA doesn't show it..

Thanks, Chris.

Yeah the filler piece on your car is part of the clipper kit arch. Was the arch damaged previously? that may have required a fix at some point making it a two piece instead of once continuous arch from front to back. Looks like your might have been cut at the joint right between bumper and start of clipper arch.

It's not arch liner is actually the clipper body kit arch.

Thanks, I understand now.
The forward piece on my arches must have been cut off both sides. Or the guy repairing it lost the arches like he lost a load of other parts and replaced them with some damaged / cut ones. FFS. Something else to sort but that's going to need paint and, and, and… Jesus Christ I'm £5.5k and 2 years into welding and paint and I'm still finding stuff like this. So incredibly annoyed. Thanks for your help explaining. The pic I posted of the white car is one I saw last night; that had individual pieces there, I'm going to pick up a pair of s/h arches with the joining pieces and cut them off and use them like that for now. At least the bumper won't be loose at the rear.

Yeah that's why I wanted to rebuild my car entirely myself don't trust other people working on my cars. But don't worry mate you got your car back and fix it up properly yourself now.

Also in reality I think it's just a piece of abs plastic maybe could prob nip down your diy store and get some flex plastic and cut it to suit. Or a scrappys and just get some bumper or skirt plastic off anything really as long as you can cut and shape to what you need.

The VW part numbers you are looking for are
155 853 718
155 853 717

Very annoying that someone has cut that part of the wheel arch off, I guess instead of wrestling with rusty bolts (the heads round off easily as exposed) they took the easy option…

Very helpful website with most part numbers.
