Broken wire

Howdy folks , I need help identifying this cable is it for  the starter? Should it get voltage with ignition on? Thanks Ger

From the colour and thickness, it looks like the starter solenoid wire. Should be able to follow one end back to the starter solenoid without too much trouble. Needs to have a decent soldered joint made and two layers of heat shrink or decent thick sleeving. You should only get a voltage on it when the ignition switch is in the starting position

Thanks mate yes it's for starter followed the cable thru to engine bay . I've soldered it and heat shrinked it . All good now thanks again
