Servo relocation

I want to change to a Corrado pedal box and relocate the servo, I have the pedal box but I'm unsure of which servo to use ?, will the standard 9" ATE unit fit the pedal box ?. Or which one will ?

Why do you want to change to a corrado pedal box? I "upgraded" my brakes by adding the rear discs conversion and then using the 22mm master cylinder with original servo.

If the "upgrade" is based on the rear brake drums to disc conversion then I don't necessarily believe it's an "upgrade" switching to disc brakes. I switched mine because I don't like drums and looks nasty on the rear however if you are talking performance vs aesthetics then the drums are quite high up there on the performance front. Seen cars with huge BHP and still running drums on rear with upgraded front calipers because the drums are that good if not better for stopping power.

What benefit are you getting from the corrado pedal box?

Hi there, moving the servo, removes the brake linkage across the bulk head tidying things up, With the Corrado peddle box the pedal directly connects to the servo improving pressure and feeling . The servo it's self is larger 9" which will be better for the larger disc brakes all round im also fitting. Im also using a 6 speed box with a hydraulic clutch which the box also helps.

Hmmmm sounds interesting, you got any photos of the corrado pedal box?

Also I'm kinda curious about this now……I would think the larger servo would provide more assistance when braking and also vacuum assist etc but surely the larger master cylinder is the big ticket for the bigger brake upgrade?

With a left hand drive fuel injection car I don't think there is enough room to fit a servo and master cylinder on the left hand side of the engine bay as the inlet and exhaust manifold will be in the way.
Thanks why VW did not move them over when selling cars to a UK market.  O_o

A lot of work this modification, using the original peddle box has allowed the location for the clutch cylinder as well (I'm using a 6speed). All parts now back from powder coating looking nice.

Well done on that modification, be interested to see how it all fits in when the master cylinder, brake pipes and engine all go in
