Brake light switch identification

Have got an issue with the brake lights only coming on when pressing the pedal hard so wanting to replace the brake light switch but not sure where it is to even test it.


 Photos below of behind the pedal and around the master cylinder, can anyone spot it in either of these places? The car has a rear disc upgrade (mk3 calipers) so not sure what has changed around the servo or pedal set up.

Hi the switch is on the master cylinder, in your second photo and last photo. Yellow/red wire and yellow/black wire I think off top of my head, if you disconnect the wire/plug from the switch and short these two wires the brake light works. You said it may have been updated, would expect two switches on the master cylinder you may have just the one. Hope that helps other maybe able to explain better!

Thanks Carl, that helps a lot. Had no idea what I was looking for but should be able to poke some wires together and figure out what's what from here.
