Hi all, so I'm finally going to take the plunge and get some BC coilovers and get rid of the cheap coilovers already fitted. Only I'm a little unsure on what the best spring rate is. I've got a 83 tintop gti it's my daily run around and I maybe take it on a track once a year. Thanks in advance

Response as per that in your 'What Coilovers' post;
We have just completed the road/rally preparation of a Mk1 GTi that came with some BC BR series coilovers set very low. We have subsequently reset to std ride height and the resulting ride is probably the most compliant Golf i have driven. As i recall the BC factory advice for spring rate on the Golf is 5kg/2.7mm. If you are doing primarily track work then a stiffer spring rate may be advisable
