CIS, Digi, Carbed. then year 74-93….. and Automatic or manual.
If it was running splendidly prior to Gassing, then I would think of either water in the gas, or garbage in the filters just off the top of my head generally speaking.
We just need to know a little bit more about your ride.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Did you let the fuel level get low, say below a 1/4 tank?
Because you may have sucked up some cräp from the bottom of the tank! 🤔
What grade of fuel did you put in?
Unlikely cause because the engine should start anyway and then pink.
If you're getting clean fuel through, start looking at the carb but don't go mad unless you're experienced with them. You just might make things worse. 😉👍🏼

Pull the fuel feed going to the fuel pump and blow down the fuel line, you should be able to blow with just your mouth and hear bubbles in the fuel tank.
What is your fuel filer like?
Check the fuel filler neck for rusty holes, take the filler cap off and shine a touch down it and if any sighs of rust/holes change the filler neck asap and clean and rusty bit out of the fuel tank.
Other problem could be an air leak around the carb but I'm not up on small block cars so not sure if you get the same problems with carb air leaks if you change to a Webber carb?
