another danged plug looking for a home

another plug dangling in the breeze, a really strange shape, but I haven't a clue where it goes. anyone please ?

Mk1 golf GTI 1800 1983, which I bought as a challenge.
One of the things I wasn't expecting is someone has tried to rewire with baler twine and found it doesn't conduct electricity very well!!
