Misfiring/no revs intermittently
Hi guys,
After a bit of advice or opinion please if possible.
I've not really driven my 1.6 Carb GL in about 3 years consistently. Due to my daily having issues I've now been using it daily for a few days and it's been running perfect until now…
Just today on a 25/30 minute drive towards the end, as i went to accelerate the engine almost cut out/had no go but would idle and rev fine when not in gear. I pulled over and switched off for 5/10 mins and then restarted and it seemed to run perfect again the rest of the way.
It then ran perfectly on route home until I stopped at lights, went to pull away and did the same again. I repeated the process to get home and did start to see the same issues right at the end of the journey.
I done a filter and oil change yesterday and it's only since then it's happening. Temp gauge is fine when this is occurring, engine does seem hot but not sure what is unusually hot.
Also checked coolant quality before running it.
Could it be I've used too much oil on the change? I used ~3.5/4 and checked dipstick of course. Would over heating cause this?
It starts up fine after I turn it off and pull over and seems to be fine at higher revs/acceleration.
Bit lost on what could be causing this.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Year model engine, fuel type carb, CIS DIGI?
I would fuel pump relay if CIS.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Check your fuel filter for blockages - if you have an in-line fuel filter , it's common to get rust particles drawn up from the fuel tank.
Also, with the Weber carb, there is a need to restrict the amount of fuel returning to the fuel tank sometimes.
