I cannot for the life of me seem to source an equivalent of the original which has the threaded section at the carb end. The 'new' type will not fit, not without a lot of modification which I'm keen to avoid. Has anyone seen one before, and can help me locate one, P/N or model to search from would be super helpful. This is the bracket that the threaded section goes into, I'm running a Weber 34 ICH if that makes any odds, but this cable was working with the original Pierburg as well.

Thank you.

Could you source a length of inner bowden cable off Internet then un-solder nipple off your old one, attach temporarily with a tiny bit of solder the new cable to the old cable and pull it through outer, then solder nipple on new inner and cut to correct length?
There was a firm called speedy cables who make any drive cables for motorbikes and cars perhaps they might make a copy of the original or know someone who does this?

Just a thought…

Cheers for that, definitely an option if I can't source a replacement one. Currently done a bit (lot) of a bodge and choc blocked a bit of brake cable onto the original to extend it. Seems to work OK for now but I don't hold up much hope for its long term durability.
It's odd that this seems to be such an obscure cable, P/N might be 171721555S but can't say for sure. It looks closer than the replacement I bought but only ones for sale are in Europe so it's a bit of a risk.
