rough running

Hi folks
I am looking for advice on my K-jetronic fuel system.
I am attempting to put my project car back on the road after many years in storage.
I have fitted a new fuel tank, lift pump, high pressure fuel pump, replaced the accumulator, new fuel filter, new fuel lines.
I have also fitted new Ht leads and distributor cap as well s new spark plugs, but the car still runs rough and does not accelerate as it should when being driven on a test run.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jim

Have you checked for Vacuum leaks?

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Many thanks for your suggestion.

I have not checked for vacum issues other than the fuel tank where it draws air in when I remove the filler cap which I believe will be a blocked filter near the filler neck, so I have been running the car with the filler cap off.

where do you suggest that i check for vacum faults?

many thanks,
Jim.

Hi folks,
I have an issue with the red warning light that sits inside the temperature gauge on my 1989 Golf cabrio gti.
The warning light keeps flashing when the car is running.
I have fitted a new radiator, new water pump and thermostat and all new hoses except the two heater hoses.
Any suggestions?
regards,
Jim.

Try taking the sensor off at the top of the header tank and clean the two prongs. Worked for me

I guess you have fitted a new cam belt when getting the car back on the road, have you double check the timing marks as it's very easy to be one tooth out when refitting the belt as things move when you tension the belt.

I have purchased a cam belt kit but not yet fitted, I thought I would get the car fettled first and then fit the cam belt, but many thanks for the suggestion.
Kind regards,
Jim.
