I'm in need of some help please.
I have been looking for a new Crankshaft Sprocket for Goly,
It's a 1.3 GF engine and the original VW part number is
049 105 263 B
I feel like I have tried everywhere so now I need to ask the experts. Does anyone know where I could get one from? Or if there is another part that is a direct replacement from another vehicle or engine type.
I have two other part number from aftermarket manufacturers but I can't seem to find any, anywhere.
The Febi Bilstein part number is 25178
The Swag part number is 30 05 0001
Mine was damaged when I removed it and I doubt I can repair it.
Worse case scenario is for me to smooth any sharp edges and pray that the cambelt doesn't snag on it.
Thanks for any help and advice 👍

1.3 GF Crankshaft Sprocket needed
I expect someone will pop up with a second hand one soon, however, if not I'd try abroad.
Oscaro.com in France or Spain
Or some of the other German websites.
What about VW Classic site?
https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/
Worth a try.
Hope you get it sorted.

I had never heard of these. They seem to be showing one on their French website.
I'll see if they will send to the UK.
Thanks. 👍

Oscaro have now decided they don't have one of these available.
Still looking for one.
Hopefully someone can help. 👍

Drop me a PM to remind me
GolyTheGolf
as I'm off to Volksfest for the weekend.
I had 2 small block 16v engines that I had made to one good one. I may have sprockets left over, they may be the same. They're in the back of the shed though so I'll need to go digging.

It rained, a lot! With mud too

It's not where i thought i thought it might be which means it buried in the other shed.
sorry.
A quick google (well I say quick, actually about an hour or so) did bring up this
https://www.mecatechnic.com/en-GB/crankshaft-sprocket-for-transporter-t4-7d_KD30819.htm?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=acquisition-produit&utm_content=KD30819&gclid=CjwKCAjw3azoBRAXEiwA-_64OgzhzbRYUoY1EoDFpJvAuA8A8ssY2wVshs2Il04xUL0maGuNVhPjLxoCaRwQAvD_BwE
22 teeth and looks very similar to your picture with the cut out and everything. Might be worth a try?
I'll have a word with the guys down here and see if any one has a small block engine they are throwing away. BTW is the GF from a polo?

No! Oh well, I'm sure the sun will come out for at least one show this year.
Sorry I didn't remind you about the sprocket. I'm currently in France on holiday and a holiday in this area wouldn't be complete without a trip to Monaco. Absolutely amazing place for car perv's. 🤪
I've had a look at that sprocket on Mecatechnic, thanks for taking the time to search but the inner diameter doesn't look quite right. I'll do a bit more research on it when I get home just to make sure.
Right, off to perv on more cars. 🤘
And if anyone else reads this post that can help me please get in touch 👍

Sorry Ian,

Just realised that I didn't answer this.
The GF is a Mk1 engine, the original from my car, a 1.3. It's been a bit of a nightmare for parts. The main bearings were the worst. Took me 3 months of searching. I was ready to buy 2 separate sets to match the ones that were fitted but found a set in the end. I think it was off a 1.5 petrol.
My guess is VW were just using up the last of their parts to make up some Frankenstein engines.
As for the gearbox. Thats another story. Parts are obsolete so can't rebuild it.
Thanks again for your help. 👍
