I have a how to adjust that in the how-to section see the link in my signature.
For the motor I would make sure that your nuts on the wiper arms are tight.
Other wise you can rebuild or replace it if you have 12V to the motor and I would have to also check to see that you have a good ground on the motor first.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

The spray is controlled by the switch and the motor on the sprayer, a lot of issues with the switch alignment is the reason that the washer motor doesn't work.

Once to motor is not connected to anything plug it back in to the electrics and see if it movers.
Lots of new motors on ebay etc starting from £20.
Just check the motor looks similar as I've not changed the wiper motor on my Mk1 golf only on my Mk1 Scirocco and I fiited a motor from a Mk3 Golf but I did have to re drill to holes to change the way to motor sat.

But check your motor 1st and grease up the mechanism so it moves freely.

.Justme12345jason Hi.im.new to this I can't find the link regarding the wiper motor. Also signature where is that so do you think the motor is no good it stopped working the battery was flat I then charged it put wipers on then they stopped half way I've had to help them back down to where they rest it clicks when stalk is on but nothing also the motor is warm .
The Link in my original post is from www/cabby-info.com . Electrical section DIY drop down on the left it was the PDF linked item.
http://cabby-info.com/Files/SwappingWiperMotors.pdf.. If you take the plastic caps off the wiper arms they pry off with a small flat blade in the notch Then Loosen the Nuts (10mm) You will see that lifting the arms to the catch and gently wiggling them off, you will see a tapered shaft that has ridges in it. If the nuts are loose, the arms will stay put, and the motor shaft spins inside unrestricted and you get no movement from the arms.
If yours looks like this under the arm when it is removed, you tape off the area around the shaft and gently use a wire brush to clean the ridges free of corrosion and stuff (I use a brass tooth brush) the reason you tape off around the wiper is so you don't scratch your paint. Apply a tad modicum of copper grease to the notches and then replace the arms lower them gently to the windshield replace the belleville washer (cupped) and tighten the nut down so that your arm is snug back in to the taper and will not move if you try to move it, if it moves, then tighten it down a little tighter.
Since you say the motor gets warm, then let me ask you if the control arms are moving…If not then your motor may be seized but if the control arms move then likely you need to refer to the above paragraph to clean and tighten your arms.
Occasionally I will re-write my post with updated photos or expansions of information that original link I think was from 2004.
You have also been redirected to your switch via, My wipers work but my sprayer doesn't. That is an older link and the newer one that I re-wrote is below it includes the washer motor/pump and how I re-directed the hoses on my Cabriolet.
Is it my Wiper switch of my windshield pump acting up? | Volkswagen Owners Club Forum
The wipers vs the sprayer are two different issues that are tied by the common switch/stalk. While your Sprayer or windscreen washer may be a bad motor/pump it is usually a re-alignment of the Switch contact that you can do with a small straight slot screwdriver via the stalk hole in your steering shaft covers.
Do not over bend.
Here is where the Link in my signature goes it's a long list.

Get someone to hold the switch in the pump on position, while you check for 12volts at the connection to the pump.
if you have 12 volts to the pump when switched, the pump is likely naff.
You could remove it and put 12v direct to it , to confirm.
If you do not have 12v at the pump when switched, it's either a switch, fuse or wiring fault

The relay supplies power to the Wipers windscreen sprayer motor. It also cycles the wipers at the same time.
When I have adjusted my Sprayer Switch on the Car, I don't ever recall blowing the fuse.
Wiper motor plug
Here are the two contacts that you adjust for the sprayer.
They usually either get burnished and need to be cleaned or mal adjusted and have to be re-bent.. the one contact to the left of the longer one is usually the one that gets bent back and needs to be re-bent to the front, Through the slot on the steering shaft covers with a torch you can usually see the mismatch and bend it back.
Now when you have power on, the motor will cycle when you have the Sprayer on, and are adjusting it. So one part of the Switch uses the Sprayer and the other part of the switch powers the motor to start the 5 second wipe function of the wipers as it uses the relay.
The Tri-co motor/pump usually available at a good car store is a direct replacement, just take the Grommet they have in the package and remove it then use it straight in your pumps grommet.

As far as the links working, I would suspect that you need to clear your Cache, cookies, and or history.
