What jiuce are you drinking?
Hi
Just a quickie….
Are you guys and gals burning regular unleaded or super?
I read somewhere that injection models should be on super to prevent engine damage.
I'm not that lucky, as I only have a 1.8 carb!!
Ta!
Mike.

Hey Bert, did you fit it yourself, or do you have a contact m8?
I have a mitsubishi L200 that costs me a bl**dy fortune in derv, and wouldn't mind trying it out.

I don't care what you run,I buy the cheapest fuel as I drive past. I honestly don't think it makes that much difference in an 8 valver of this vintage. My 20 Valve Turbo Volvo does drive better on high octane but then again its a modern multi valve engine and should. Don't waste your time going for extra power from your Golf though, waste of money.

i think it depends on how your timings set up tbh
i can run pretty much anything without too much difference, but i do notice it when i run 97 and wack some octane booster in as well

Always super unleaded! 97-99 octane!
Mind you the other week had to put a fiver in coz the petrol station I went in did not have super and I was very low!!! and it pinked like crazy and power was noticbly sapped!!!
never ever gonna put normal un-leaded in it again!!!

Really? What have you got? I've tried both in mine and noticed no difference at all.
This magic can of fuel injection/air thingy that VW gave me to stick in the fuel tank is working an absolute treat though - my car hums happily once more…mmm….

I run the GL on unleaded and the GTI on Shell V-Power (99 octane, apparently). I tend to go to the same filling station, which is a Shell, mainly because its also the cheapest in the area.

Definately feel a difference when using super unleaded. even more so when I use Shell Optimax! Ive got a DX code 1.8 gti 1983.
Felt so under powered when I put normal unleaded the other week, then filled it back up with Optimax and she went like a rocket!!

Perhaps it's worth getting a tune up and trying the Optimax juice.

Shell V-power…mine doesn't like BP ultimate and I really notice the difference if I just use normal unleaded….the difference is under a fiver a tank but I get better mpg with the high octane stuff - false economy to go for cheaper fuel IMO
