I wouldn't mind a test drive in that car.

Looks like VW has uprated the brakes: BRAKES - Same as mk1 gti but with more effective servo and master cylinder.

Looks good from here. Even better slightly lowered.

Has a Mk2 engine, brake servo, cylinder and even the rear wiper the other side.

The South African CITI Golf, a great way of getting yourself a 'new' Mk1 (though I think that production of this car has now ceased?).  You will find a number of differences between this and a Series 2 Mk1 - the front grille leans backwards (like a Mk2) rather than forwards, the bumpers and trim will be unique to the SA car, and there are creases in the C pillar.  Of course, you're getting some more modern technology as well, and a lot of the Mk1 maladies (such as dodgy brakes) have probably been improved.  It will make an interesting alternative to other cars of a similar age…

Looks good - interesting to know what the brakes are like, are they just uprated servo and master cylinder?. Golf Sport bages on the bootlid look a bit a cheap and tacky, although think they are original.

Sold it early before i could view it . Went so he tells me -the seller that is -for a P-reg Corsa in part ex and another very rough Golf Citi on a K-reg in part ex plus ?400.00 !!!  


Still looking for that runabout ……
