Watch out mice about
Went to give my Helios Blue Campaign a bit bit of a valet this morning ready to take off road for Winter. Will still keep it taxed and tested in case of the nice days we sometimes get over Winter.
I was horrified to see my screen demister sponge in shreds all over the footwell. Also some of the carpet has gone. 8O
Got the wife to go through the mess and she found mice droppings. Have now put two traps in car and will check them daily.
I started her (the Golf) up but all seems well with the wiring loom so far. Everything works at present. Just hope I catch the bliter before it does any more damage. God knows how it got in.
Keep those pictures of the wiring loom in situ handy, Crazyquiff.

I found shreds of newspaper and a store of budgie seed in the sills of my old mini when I was restoring it. They'd nibbled the HT leads a bit too! 8O
I read classic car mags quite a bit and it seems mice problems are quite common.

Caught it !
It was a catch 'em alive trap so it was released into the paddock at the back of our house.
Hope it doesn't try again. Have reset trap incase there was more than one.

Atleast your mouse has confirmed you do infact have a 'classic' car Adolf!

Cheers,
Drew.

A lot of the plastics in VW's are made from recycled material which attracts mice. We have a lot of problems with customers who live in the country and when you tell them they have a mouse problem they don't believe you. They also expect any damage to be covered by warranty???????

Guess what.

Caught another mouse last night in the Campaign. Hopefully that will be it. Presume they were male and female and by next spring I could have dozen of the bliters.
Will reset for tonight just in case.

At least they have great taste Prowler
Where better to set up home than a Mk1 Golf GTI Campaign.
