From what I have seen Mohair seems to stay blacker longer & not go as grey.

My clipper still has it's original vinyl roof and it doesn't seem to have lost any of it colour and i'ts 13 yrs old! Apart from the odd wear and tear mark it still looks pretty good?
On the other hand mohair does seem to be the popular choice for replacements?
Personaly I think the vinyl looks more authentic.
Woudn't mind hearing anyone elses thoughts on this one as I reckon my roof's only got about a year left before it need replacing.

If your after originality and you cant be arsed to treat it to special shampoos then go vinal.
I do like mohair ones though and if the hood comes to need replacing on my sportline then I'll definately be consider it.

If you have a mohair hood fitted…… just watch the local cat doen's get comfy on it!!! (My sisters hood is perminatly covered in white hair and it's a pain to get off!!!!!
At least with a vinyl one they are easier to look after!!! but i do agree the mohair ones look darker and smarter!!!

Think of it like this… the quicker you replace it the more benefit you will have from the new roof while you own the car, and you will love your car more when its looking so much tidier.
Its not a really difficult job either….

On the cab in the guide, I kept putting replacement off until just before selling it and really wished I'd replaced it sooner. I also really needed to fit the hood before selling as no one would want to buy a car with a manky hood.
Cheers,
Ross
