un identified object on my golf gti cabriolet...!?

hey guys n gals, just bought a mk 1 gti cabriolet and am intrigued by something on it. I dont know how well i'll explain this but here we go. on the black beam that runs between the front and back windows from one side of the car over the top to the other side, there's an object on both sides that looks like some kind of bracket with 2 allen key bolts on each. it looks as if it could possibly be something to do with attaching a roof rack but this seems a bit bizarre as the car is a cabriolet. probably went into too much detail but does anyone have any idear what i'm on about?  :dontknow:

im sure someone one here knows what you mean, but if at all possible, then could you whip a picture up and you will find and answer pretty soon :y:

It sounds like a bracket for attaching a roof rack but without pics, its hard to be sure from the description. There's a link to the buyer's guide on the home page, its a PDF document, and contained in here is a pic of the brackets. They did do a cabby roof rack but its rare, hence you rarely see them.
