Think i got stung on ebay?
i am trying to sell my mazda mx5 (i know not the best time of year, but it is if you have tax bill to pay!) the most important thing is its LHD and uk registered, this makes it rare and desiarable to some. its a n reg with 48k on the clock. i listed it last sunday and was amazed when it sold with buy it now for £1500 within 2 minutes!!! however i cant get hold of the buyer. i sent several messages and an invoice and nothing at all so after 4 days i raised an unpaid item case, this takes at least another 4 days before i can claim back the ad fee and the final value fee. so i have lost at least 8 days before i can relist. so no problem in itself just some idiot with no intention of paying. as i cant relist because i have to give the buyer time to pay

now i have no proof and it could be a complete fluke but i think if i had a car for sale and some had one better for half the price i wouldnt be happy.
so hopefully i can relist tomorrow (tuesday) and sell the thing but is there anything i could do to stop this happening again, other than no buy it now.

i guessed that someone "bought it" too get rid of competition.. also don't be fooled when wanting to buy something, another item better condition comes on, the original listing ends with most waiting for the better item, then better item ends early.

Check out there profile too, have they got good feedback?
That's the probs on e bay, are you entitled to sue to enforce contract when the time limit for him to pay expires.
Plus you would then ask for all the court costs too.
Bit extreme I guess.
But you don't want to be made a monkey out of.
Plus if the seller of the other car may have another e bay account, with a friend etc. So he may sell his for more money and then use the money to buy yours and then re sell it making a profit?
Or am I getting carried away again lol.

The other possibility is they've hacked another account and hijacked it, but if they have, its sheer chance they hacked one with an address less than 5 miles away…..
Use the eBay facility to report an unpaid bidder if they never pay etc, and they'll at least be able to mark the account as an unpaid buyer. If its a friend's account that got used, he'll now think twice about letting his mate abuse it?
