Sold my golf.
One word - "Gutted"
I watched the new owner drive away with my baby yesterday. Not the best feeling in the world I have to say.
Ah well I hope he gets as much enjoyment out of her as I did. Fair well SMUY.

I feel your pain Kins - my Mk1 departed for a new home on Monday evening and it was a very sad day .
The way to look at it though is that I am *sure* at some point in the future there will be other Mk1's in your posession  . I think once you have had one they are in your blood!
Hope the preparations for the move to the states are going OK.
Cheers,
Chris

Aww thanks for the "chin up" comments. You cheered me up.
Yes the only reason I sold is becuase of my move… I just couldnt justify going through the hassle and expense to import her.
I fly Tuesday morning and will keep you posted when I'm stateside.
As far as a replacement for the golf… I was thinking V8 muscle, RWD and manual with a budget of $6000. So far I've got my eye on a 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro perhaps
Like this maybe?
Or the same F-body 3rd generation Pontiac Firebird…. essentially the same car:
I know it's no mk1 golf but I will need a winter ride too… enter mk1 8)
