Hi All
Can't be sure, but not much on security….anyone got any comments on security for my new beloved. I suppose I'd be looking at about ?250 (being fitted at home) any recommendations/ideas ladies and gents.

Hi TC
IIRC you won't be able to fit a Cat1 alarm yourself if you need it for insurance reasons, as they'll ask for an installation certificate.
Alarm wise I've never had any problems with the Sigma fitted to my Polo, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. IMO as long as it's thatcham approved I don't think there's really much difference between the different brands, it's jst down to what features you want with it, and how much you want to pay for em.

I've got a laserline cat 2 fitted to my golf which is switched on by a key fob. This is very annoyin as u cant just jump in and turn the key you have to faf about with the fob first. Go for something on a remote if you can afford it also it has to be proffessionally fitted for insurance to approve it as Woody said.

I've got a Laserline Cat 1 alarm/immobilser.
Cost ?330 fitted. Insurance company insisted as I have no garage.
Fitted at my place of work in a couple of hours. Company called Covert Installations in Crayford, Kent.
Ultrasonic sensors are not drilled into any trim and manual override and LED are discreetly under dash.
Good to have piece of mind when leaving my Campaign anywhere.
