I've put a notice on the front page, seems appropriate. Lets hope he's back to full strength soon. Our thoughts are with RIchard and his family at this time.

Sent the following to topgear via their website…

Dear Top Gear.

Appreciate that you're probably being deluged at the moment, however…

The Mk1 Golf Owners' Club would like to extend our thoughts of sympathy and best wishes to Richard and his family at this difficult time. Richard has done huge amounts for both Top Gear and car enthusiasts in general. I was privileged to meet him in 2003 when one of our Golfs was featured on Top Gear. Fantastic chap, great show and long may both continue.

We wish him both a full and quick recovery. Every car enthusiast in the land is rooting for him.

Best regards,

Drew Wagar, Chairman, Mk1 Golf Owners' Club

Cheers,

Drew.

He is a legend!  I've been watching him since he appeared on Men and Motors.  He is such a nice genuine bloke.  Only lives a few miles from me in the forest-of-dean Gloucestershire.

Fingers crossed, or time to say a prayer.
