Re : Rat look/retro look...TYPICAL!

Thanks for your definitions of 'retro' and 'ratlook' (Groovy carrot, Drew, Kins, Hairyarse.) I shall venture forth onto the show grounds with a lot more confidence.
I just cant believe that I could have pulled off the best 'Ratlook' for a mk1 Golf ever had I left it how it was a year ago…typical.  :banghead:
My beloved Golf was almost a complete wreck.   It had been stood outside on my uncle's farm for a year in all kinds of weather (I would've rescued it but hadn't passed my test yet!) and in the meantime my younger cousin decided to give it a rally nightmare over hard bumpy fields damaging the under-belly and tow bar. The paintwork was so faded and matted you couldn't run your hand accross it…it just got stuck! There were spiders webs/nests in every possible cranny, and mould had set in around the window seals….it would've looked spot-on for a Ratlook contest!
Finally when I came to get hold of it for good, my dad brought it back to life (I am but a lass, but learnt loads in the process) Being a VW, the engine still started 1st time after sitting there for an eternity and only needed a bit of attention! It's had a new wing where it'd been caved in, a full respray and blacker bumpers etc, and nobody recognises it anymore! It can only be Retro look now I guess! There'll be a pic soon on this site soon - it's the burgundy diesel. It has original mk1 9spoke alloys on now though - not in pic,  more in-keeping with the RETRO look! Also been lowered at back 40mm to level out (after pic was taken).
Thanks again…cool pics too!
