can i ask why its harder to read in capital letters then lower case
The only reason I can think of is that we're used to reading in lower case. For example, I find it hard to read Chinese, compared to English. But a Chinese person would find it difficult the other way round.
All told, English is one of the most difficult languages, but its a UK website and it also appears to be the dominant language on the internet. So unless everyone is prepared to choose and switch to another language which is easier (German, for example) we're stuck with it.

well i don`t think it is any harder to read capitals then lower case, thats why i was asking ?
Ask anyone with poor vision mate and they will tell you caps are harder to read.
As a designer it's one of the first things you learn.

My stepdaughter has it. Its obvious she has it, she's a bright girl in any other respect, its just that she makes (to me) glaringly obvious errors with the placement of letters in words. I thought it didn't exist either, until I saw her work.
is that rheumatoid arthritis??

No, its dyslexia. Well at least, a school's assessment that she might have it. Medically its a disorder, right? It would be interesting to look up its DSM-IV classification.
ive done that, now you could look at autu-immune disease which i suffer from??
Exactly the point (in a roundabout way) - its a lot to do with the way medical professionals define things. Another good example is personality disorder. To be sectioned (under the mental health act) the 'disease' you suffer from must be treatable - but there's a subset of personality disorders which aren't treatable, or readily definable on any of the traditional 5 axis mental disorder spectrum. So…..what gives?

in the past ive noticed many people mentioning dyslexia as a reason for their less than perfect english,i dont believe such a disorder;disadvantage:misunderstanding exists, the people who claim to have dyslexia on our site appear to harp on about it a little too much,i have rheumatoid arthritis but dont feel the need to tell you i aint been able to take my car out cos i literally cant steer the bloody thing…yet…
Agreed.
-Not about rhuematoid arthiritis, I dont have that.
I've seen a few people claiming to have dyslexia
I just begin to question it when the post has zero spelling mistakes.
I've a mate who's dyslexic. Officially! He has mega problems with spelling!!

i do feel that his first response to novacains answer was a little abrupt and at that point i may have fired him off and left him with a goosed car
folk tried to help him and all he seemed to do was criticise them cos they couldn't read his posts.
lets hope he comes on again as this world is too serious a place and i need a good laugh every now and then.

ok i have dyslexicia. and no you don't see many spelling mistakes in what i type. mainly because unlike alot of people with it who use it as an excuse i worked damn hard and found very good coping strategies to deal with it. i always re read what i type and if i'm not sure how to spell a word I look it up.
I find this a bit insulting that you think zero spelling mistakes means you dont have dyslexicia i have worked so hard to get to the point im at now and then you turn round and say "yer right you aint got it you can spell" do your research bud before throwing your 2 pence in.
and as for people on here saying it alot. i've said in once in one thread
which was about the subject in the first place. i have never used it as an excuse. i got a degree and refused help with it because i wanted to do it myself.
as for miss typing or spelling incorrectly on a forum it is just lazy which is the problem with most people in the UK these days.
