Remember you can only use them if your car was registered  1973 or before otherwise you may feel the long arm of the law on your collar.

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

Yeah the cops are pretty hot on these non standard plates these days and its just a case of filling in a ticket to them.

You're allowed non standard plates if you're going to/from a show, at other times they have to conform to BS146d.

Black plates look wrong a MK1 anyway. On a 60's Beetle or Splittie Ok.

I think the White S1 at Stanford Hall would look better with pressed reflective white/yellow plates or even better 70's plastic fantastic 3D digits.

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

The cops were out in force at Dub Freeze this year clamping down on cars with incorrect styled number plates.

I only saw the tickets on the cars once they'd been parked up so can only deduce that they were ticketed on the way to the event.

If you really need to have the black and white or pressed plates, save them until you're inside the gates otherwise it'll be an expensive day out.

i would have loved the 70s plastic plates but i had only owned the car 2 weeks, it came with either the black classics… or the dihatzu car garage plates .. i think i made the better choice ;) haha
