Porsche door handles

Ive seen the chrome porsche door handles on a few mk1's and mk2's over the years and ive always liked the look of them. What model do they come from and are they a direct replacement or do you have to make modifications for them to fit?

Also, how much do they sell for?

I usually look for 944 Porsche script handles but they are quite expensive. Anywhere from 50-200 quid a pair last time I looked? Not too sure how much of a hassle they are to fit.

Hi, we have 944 scripted handles on our car and they are a direct fit, all i had to do was change the "v" shaped metal thing on the locking mechanism from the porsche bit to one from a stock handle so it catches the lock inside the door. :)

Thanks for the replies. I knew nothing about them before, it's a great help. I take it that scripted means that they are the ones which have Porsche engraved in them? Are they rare? Ive had a quick look on eBay and there ain't any. :-(

How do you fit them? Do you have to change the barrels would they stick out too much?
