Original Sales Invoice

Hi,

Ive just been going through all the paperwork for my car and managed to find the original sales invoice. Was just wondering how many of you still have them for your cars? i find it kinda interesting looking at these old documents…. original prices, options, etc. Mine was first bought in Holland by some army guy!!

Anyway, let me know if anyones interested in seeing i can scan it… also, anybody  else willing to show theirs? (probably not… im just really nerdy with this kinda stuff!   )

When I sent off my V5 to have it changed to reflect the 1800cc I dropped in, they sent me a copy of the sales recipt (I think it was the receipt)!?!?

Hi - I've got the sales invoice for mine. Very interesting it is too. The original owner part-ex'd an Escort XR3 for it. Also specified dealer fitted elec windows and reflective rear panel (the elec windows are still there, the panel has gone though)

I think having an original receipt for these cars is quite a rare thing nowadays…. but il probably be proved wrong!!

It just takes u back in time, can imagine being there when the car was being ordered at the vw dealership… with lovely factory fresh golfs parked in the showroom….  

Would you be willing to scan yours and post it? and if anyone else is up for it… maybe create a dedicated album for such things?

Yeah, I'd scan it if anyone is interested. One of the main reasons I bought the car was that it came with receipts for all money spent on it since day 1, service books, sales invoices, etc, etc, etc. It's been interesting going through them and seeing what's been done / what went wrong over the years. As an example, I have a receipt for the fitment of a 'bonnet mascot' (!), - plus a receipt for the replacement of burnt-out elec window switches.

I have the sales receipt for the purchase by the second owner back in Jan' 1985. The car had 18761 miles and was sold for ?5895.
