Olympics - Opening/Closing Ceremony
I know we are all going to be sick of the olympics at some point but the opening ceremony…. I thought it was going to be balloons, bubbles and ribbons… some drab show…. it was bloody awesome!!! Who watched it and what did you think?
At the minute I'm enjoying the Olympics… just watched a bit of the men and women tennis and boxing is on now. Just wish I could buy a 3D TV for the womens beach volleyball

Didn't know what to expect but it was fabulous, the 007 sketch with HRH QE2 jumping out of the helicopter was something no other country could either imagine or execute like that.

Was sort of …whatever about the whole thing initially but absolutely loved the opening ceremony (was interested first of all as D&B producer "high contrast" was asked to curate and produce music for the event). Danny Boyle pulled a blinder as far as I'm concerned and am properly hooked on the whole thing! watched a bit of volleyball and judo yesterday and watched the woman's road race and volleyball this afternoon..
loving it

I too was really impressed, nodded off slightly on the parade between letters D and S but other than that well worth the watch.
I mean you could grumble about how much it's all costing, that's my tax's blaa blaa… but as the gov'mnt has would have just blown it on something else anyway, I thought it was worth the watch and really enjoyed!
Might even watch some of the events as the F1 on holiday for a month!

I thought the second half was a joke TBH if its a cultural introduction to England. As much as i like the Prodigy, badly choreographed dancing (What were those weebles on bouncy shoes all about), then a house party alot of texting and a black guy gets a one night stand is not a great advert for our depth of culture :-P all though it is a honest representation i suppose it was just like watford town centre on a saturday night :-D

I thought the Red Arrows were a little lacking, I was expecting more than just a fly by over the stadium. they did more flying over my house on their way back to base than at the show.
the start was a little Larkrise to Candleford and got better as it went on. sort of disapponted that the music section was in chonological order, moving around the years rather than through them.
Went to bed some where in the C countries. though it was nice to see how many countries we once used to run come through. Maybe the opening ceremony should have just been a world globe painted pink to show the UKs might.

so far its pretty shit, i needed plenty of drugs to get through the opening ceremony, i think the amount needed for the closing ceremony would give amy winehouse a run for money.
did none of the singers do sound checks?
