Well boys and girls,i got the TD running today finally after much work  :wink: Garrett T3 with AAZ 1.9Td lump with modified crank (tdi) so the pulley wont spin on the crank  8O

Have you taken it out for a spin yet?

I only fitted the downipie to start it up,need to get on the ramp to fit middle and back,it is quiet with no exhaust though,i might intercool it if i find one to fit nice  :wink:

Fantastic job bert.  I'm always amazed how quiet turbo diesels are with no exhaust.

I'd recommend a Peugeot Turbo Diesel intercooler - lots in scrappies and I guess the hoses would fit with some easy mods.  They go on the top of the engine on the Pug and are approx 9" x 24".

I ran mine with just a downpipe for quite a while, I loved the turbo whistle ops:   but its all but gone now with the full system…

I'm also fairly jealous of your steering wheel and grille badges! 8)

must say its just as lovely in the metal.. :wink:

As for power output  :dontknow:  has not moved yet as no exhaust and no tax even though it runs ok without it  :?
the diesel is my favourite,im a diesel bloke,petrols too tempremental  and dont like cooking oil  
The weight is probably exactly the same as it was with the old diesel engine,its not much different.
And last,yes the turbo whistle is ace without the exhaust on,i might take it for a rasp first  :twisted:

did u bodge exhaust? or do u need a hand? did u have to extend downpipe? no probs mate u wont move for a month!

tomo the exhaust is 2.5" stainless all the way from the turbo,there is 1 box at the back, and the downpipe is specially made to fit the mk1,the exhaust came off the W reg mk1 turbo diesel i brought and cut up,the geezer paid 350 quid to have it made and it was never driven (mot)
