MK1 GTi Project
After some prolonged thought (or mid-life crisis!) I have decided to start on a quest to purchase a MK1 GTi, having owned 3 of these beauties from 1989-91 (why oh why did I sell em!).
Having looked on Ebay etc I find that most are out of my budget, but undeterred I am determined to continue in my quest.
Now I am no mechanic or body specialist, but once purchased I plan to restore the car to its original spec etc.
I am thinking of writing a detailed rolling log of my quest, detailing the highs and lows, the pitfalls, dangers and highlights of trying to get one of these cherised marques, in the hope that this may be of interest to people starting on the same path.
Perhaps this log could be the basis of a small article or 'real-life' experience article.
Would you gents be interested in this?
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave!
Good call looking for a mk1. Have a look in the restoration area, a few of us are keeping a log of our projects (me included) and it would be great to hear about your project too as you can learn a lot on here by talking to other peeps
All the best with it, let us know how you get on.
