mk1 Golf Wedding Car
Guys.
Please no one rip the p*ss lol if you think this is a silly thread, but i am taking a very good friend of mine to his wedding on the 21st Aug where i am both usher and now chafeur :-), and wondered who has used there car as a wedding car before, where they attached ribbons etc.
Ive got some set of ebay with a 6M ribbon and 5 bows, im thinking ribbon as tradition front centre of bonnet to sides of windscreen or something, then box on each door handle and maybe on the back where tonneau cover clips on?
Also thinking about wrapping some mathcing ribbon around role bar.
Just have this horrible vision of it all blowing off on the way to the church :-)
and pics of suggestions be appreciated.
Cheers
Rich

I think we talked about this at Maccy D's the other week?! I'm using mine as the wedding car too.
I planned on wedging the ribbon in the side windows, as there's nowhere else to tie it on the windwscreen.
Aside from that mybe bows off the wingmirrors? Don't worry too much about them blowing off - youre not supposed to cane it with the bride/groom in the back - you'll mess up their hair!

Tie ribbons to the sunvisor outer (windscreen side, you know what I mean) attachment where it swivels, then tie bows (if you wish) to the ribbons at the top of the windscreen frame. On a cabby you can hook the ribbon over the gutter trim and it takes a really good shape.

My mates used a cabby as the brides wedding car - white one.
If the day had been sunny and dry then it would have made a really good feature - but it was drizzly and overcast so the hood had to be up. The bride and her father were in the rear with another friend driving and when they arrived at the church it looked a right struggle getting out with the dress's train all rucked up.
When they left it was roof down and it was ok then.
Tie the ribbon around the sun visors as suggested, that way if it IS sunny then you can get the hood down.

I was supposed to do this last week but my fuel pump relay popped the night before  Hope yours is ok though dude.
I used my camper van instead - I tied it to the outter edge sunvisor arm so it didnt affect the doors opening. I was planning on tiying it to the bonnet catch on the bonnet on the Mk1 whihc has been suggested already. They flap around quiet a bit so make them nice and tight and not too slack or it will be sagging by the time you get to the church.
Other than that I think you have the right idea with the ribbons already

mate of mine did this a while back with a cabby. He put the ribbon through the grill, behind the badge, and then tied it off on the sun visor's. That way you get a nice, even line with the vw badge in the centre lol
