lupo's
probably get slayed for this, i have never been in a modern vw, i had a go in my aunties lupo today, 1.4 (75bhp (mobility car)), im quite tall and was suprised by the amount of room! was nippy too. very quiet, the only time u knew u were above 4000 revs was when the steering wheel vibrated a little and a tad of torque-steer, nice little car in 20 years time we might all be posting about em'

I reckon the Lupo is one of VW's best cars in a long time, the Lupo GTI is a fantastic little motor - particularly with a DubSport VR6/1.8 20v Turbo conversion. I think VW was closer with the Lupo GTI to the original Mk1 Golf GTI than it is with much of the Golf GTI's replacements…

I saw a green Lupo on the ring road outside Blackburn the other day, it obviously had been tinkered with..lowered, tuned exhaust, wide wheels etc and it was going like stink!!
A good looking motor.

i'm a fan of the lupo GTI too, as the way i see it is the golf is soooo far removed from what it used to be the lupo GTI is the closest modern VW you can get to the MK1 GTI , the weight is almost the same and with a modern 1.6i too

Well I hate the Lupo!! One pushed Keith's MK1 Golf into the gravel trap at Brands Hatch last Sunday on lap 2. Buggered our weekend completely!

I must agree the Lupo is VW's best effort in recent years. However I'm 6'3" and when I sat in a Seat Arosa at the motor when they were first launched, I really struggled to well….. fit in 8O ! Compared to a MK1 which has bags of room and I'm snug as a bug in a rug

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday
