Looks like a beauty. Had exactly the same car myself and loved it. Maybe the best GTi ever? If not in looks then at least for me the best screwed together and value for money. Certain to be another classic in 10 years time.

If it as nice as it looks then standard, original cars are always going to be the best buys and easiest to sell on for zero depreciation.

What a corker. This will go for ?3k+ easy. 8)

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

I feel for any body trying to sell a car on evil bay the amount of time wasters and stupid questions you get are unreal.
Good luck to the guy and I hope he gets what he wants price wise.
I think if you were after a nice mk2 and if its as good as the photos suggest then it is worth about 4grand - tuck it away use it on nice days and weekends and in a few years it will be even more desirable. Late mk2 like this are the best spec'd ones to get especially as it NOT OAK GREEN. :P

Lovely mkII. Should go for ?3,500 + and will hold it's money if looked after.
Straight ones are getting harder to find

It looks really smart and well worth the money. I just hope he doesn't get people mucking him about. I wouldn't sell another car on the internet after the problems I had when selling my previous car

Imitation Magic Tree - 'Black Ice' smell
Plenty of rust
Embarrasing fuel problem

I just don't like the Mk2 shape. Still, can't knock the guy for having a tidy car. Its always a good sign when people ask the price you want to end the auction early. They are usually the 'dodgy' buyers, though, so if you do do this, only accept hard cash! A cheque could be returned unpaid 7 days on, so if you receive a cheque early, keep the auction running too.

End of line 16v's always seem to fetch the money. You'd cry if you knew what my mate swapped his 5dr 1991 16v for .
