Just bought my first golf gti

I just managed to get hold of a mk1 golf gti, taxed and tested for reasonable money, just wondering.. the guy who sold it said it was a special edition 1, what special edition i dont know, it was registered 21/06/1984 if that makes any difference.. its got all the pirelli P alloys etc but i cant be sure what it is.. perhaps if i post some pics when i pick it up.
A mate bought it in london from a friend who took it in P/X (in a garage) so im picking it up sunday..
the info i have is:
Its got 104,000 miles with history, 6 previous owners, mot till december, in mars red, and its got the P slot alloys and twin headlamps etc.. do these cars fetch money these days?

Sounds like a very late registered Campaign to me. You can check it out by clicking here.

Yeh i think it is from what ive been told, deffo got leather steering wheel p slot wheels etc, does it make it worth a lot more being a campaign model? only problem is that it has a crack in the windscreen and the gears are a bit unsure between 1st and reverse.. is that a big problem?

Swaping out the windscreen is an easy job - An hour tops with a mate to help.
The gears could probably do with a linkage repair kit (Bout ?12) to take away the slop and maybe needs adjusting slightly.

Sounds like a nice, original car though…
