don't know for sure but believe the ones with the roof windows are refered to as a '21 window'? mate of mine bought one in jersey about 5 years ago for resto because it was only ?5k 8O and didn't need a great deal of work (it was useable). Since then it's sat in his garden and been used as a shed while he finished building his UVA Fugitive (that took him 15 years to finish and had 3 engines before he settled on the one that's in it now - 3litre Porsche…). He also has a splitty with 'safari windows' that he restored a while back - worth about 10K. And he has a 'thing' as well - one of those VW military soft top cars that hitler got drove around in (type 21??) which he still hasn't decided what engine that's going to get.
Have you tried the Split Screen Club? they will point you in the right direction i'm sure.

It's a samba you're after by the sounds of it, If it is then I hope you've got a big wallet cos even if you do find a rusty one requiring work then you'd be looking at over 20k for it.
I'd consider a later bay window camper, More of them about and much cheaper than a splitscreen camper.

Thanks for all your advice its been a big help yeah the splitter screen sounds a good place to have a look
,, going for a later one does sound better "money" cause my view is they are not worth 10,20,30k up thats just my umble view,,———–also play on my lads 1200 bandit which used to be mine & also have a converted very fast speed triple/T595/955i "A Proper Triple" which is up for sale bought it in jan this year with the sole intention to convert it as i love the streetfighter renthal bar look "Love It" ,,this was not a crashed then oh lets fighter it,,brought it home 2 days later she was stripped,,its a shame to sell such a cracking bike as it really does put a smile on my face due to its bigger power & nimble handling but need the cash as am having a change in career & need the wedge to do so "class 2 Then 1",,,so if anyones interested in this sh*t hot bike feel free to contact me 07708319917 or triumph595@hotmail.co.uk for pics & info cheers Rick.

If you need any advice I'd be happy to give you a few pointers dude. I'll exchange bus info for MK1 info
I'm well into the aircooled scene. We have a OG paint 58 from LA. It looked like this when we first got her, but after approximately 150 hours of hand sanding with 300 wet and dry, I finally uncovered ALL the original Mango Green/Seagull Grey paint under the crappy 70's spray job!
Here's a few shots of ours and few shots of our mates. Hope you like.
When we got it (boring)
and how it looks now, but's it's a tad lower as of a couple of weeks ago
My best mate Stu's 63 Double cab frshly slammed and narrowed 4"
Gill's sign written (by himself) 55 fresh outa his workshop
Pauls 65 with authentic bullet hole in the side (came from LA too)
Big D's 65 (soon to be a race van)
And as for the "Hitler" car, I think you mean a Type 181 Trekker like me mates Rob, which used to run a 356 Porsche lump, but it currently ungoing a nice 2.1 turbo engine swap and that should pull 9's at pod !
Sorry for being a complete and utter picture whore, but I'm real proud of my club !

Jamie's was the 23 window one - it was sold at Coys auction in May for ?48000 + ?21000 for the trailer. It's full of Playstations and TV stuff and has a Porsche engine - a 914 I think. I also recall it was extremely unreliable.
These vehicles have been getting really expensive and I have seen another one for sale at over ?30k. There are still a few wrecks around in the VW mags.
I think they are the coolest things - standard, rat look, all of them BUT check out the diary on this page:

Hi mate yeah your buz bus looks real good lowered & wheels set it off well too,,the price of these old vans are in my view totally crazy mind you even some later models t25 stuff can go for daft money,,by the looks al be look for the later type "t25" square headlight one in time to come,,where we live at the mo we have no garage but we are moving mid of this month & the new place as abit of land at the side to build at workshop not garage lol somewhere to tinker,,so long as the council
give us the go ahead fingers crossed  i do like the idea of the straight 6 potter lt van as i used the service a few years ago when i used to be in the trade & i love the power they have,,cant remember the exact model but they were the sliding door + single rear lift door, engine in between driver & passenger rear wheel drive,,they look just like the VW T 3 (t25) model but as i say a straight 6 cylinder petrol lump, love the pics of yours & ya mates vans kind regards Rick..
