I hope Godfrey's OK...

Okay so first off, the girlfriend named him, not me  
He went into a garage this evening to have the clutch done in the morning (Wednesday 2nd Feb). I just hate the idea that my car is in somebody elses hands  :?
Now I know the usual; check the car over before and after, maybe even take pictures. But do any of you know how customers cars get treated? Maybe you work in a garage yourself and see it daily?

i know what you mean mate, i get nervous when ever my car is is garages, luckily dubboy on here see's to my issues and also funk-star is amazing too, so an enthusiast hands and eyes are always worth their weight in gold, do you have any specialists nearby?

I fully understand your anxiety. I feel like it's one fo the family going into hospital and I want to be there, at their bedside to hold their hand !

I know this isn't what i should write here maybe but make sure you give your car a full check BEFORE you drive it away. I did a work experience placement in a garage and one of the mechanics scraped the whole side of a car that was in. When the guy came to collect it he parked it up alongside a wall and the guy didn't notice and drove away. I wanted to tell him somehow but i was only 16 and a bit scared of what was going on  8O  :redfaced:
The mechanic said as soon as he'd driven off he couldn't bring it back and blame him as it could of happened elsewhere!
I always check everything as soon as i get to the garage…….

I know what you mean. I don't leave my golf anywhere…
I'd rather take it off the road and do the job myself, even if it takes me 6 months!

The only place I have left it, was at the painters. First time round it was completely stripped, so no hope of it going far. second time, I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon, noting mileage etc!

Mines been at the mechanics all year so far I think I may have to go to the docs soon for anxiety n depression!!!
