Settling In

I am thick!
So trying to show how proud I am of my new Mk1 one by uploading some pics to a post and it keeps asking for the "http://" address - i did follow this then when you upload it just shows a load of text rather than the pic
There saved to my computer so thought it would be a matter of inserting or copying and pasting - this is not the case!!!
Can Anyone help this complete doughnut and advise me how to because I'm out of ideas

You can have a read of THIS thread which gives a detailed how-to on how to post pictures, but all you really need to do is type
at the end
For example:
becomes:
Without the spaces at either end - if you're on photobucket, there's an "IMG code" on the right of each of your pictures which has the codes in it, simply copy and paste!
