HARDCORE-DUBS Mk1 RE-BUILD

few pics of another Re-build almost nearing completion…. :D

it came in a bit of a state, despite pics, painted badly in synthetic paint (nightmare)…..

back had had a small impact, result, boot floor pushed in and boot lid slightly rippled…

after removing the spatz, it wasn't long before we found the dreaded…

also, the front panel was shafted and badly fitted….

looks like sum1 had took a crowbar to the door, so it needed attention…

out with the rot, it was chopped and replaced…

front bumper hole welded and filled, along with another peice of the wing chopped out and replaced, due to rot..

door had the odd bit of attention too…

trial fitted the back lights, in the peice of the panel i'd cut out, i would've used the full repacment panel, but it'd been run over, n was shafted, so i removed the sections i needed…

after lots of welding, arc eye, facial tan and a skim of aircraft quality fibreglass, it's starting to look like it should…

dents inside also….

even passenger door was in a tangle, looks like it's come off a srapper thats been picked up with straps??…

sills had been jacked (oh dear)…

sorted…

front panel, had seen better days…

better…

arch rolled propper and sealed, well at least 1 is done right

back panel, taking more shape, inside and out, after i'd straightend the boot floor a bit…

even the roof was fubard, i think the rear impact had pushed the roof up, 'cause the seam sealer along the gutter had split and cracked both sides, this needed sorting…

sorted n sealed…

back panel done and car masked ready for high-build primer and hovercraft conversion fitted???

3 thick coats of high-build 2k primer later…

after a matt black guide coat, i went round n marked all the little imperfections out, with green stickers, this is so i don't miss anything (stone chips/ blemishes etc), as you can see, there's still plenty of work to do, it's got green measle's

after another wet sanding, it's back in the booth…

de-masked n wheels back on, lookin quite tidy…

and now, the money shots… B)

and after another wet sanding, with 2000 wet n dry, it's starting to polish up quite well…. B)

almost re-built now, this is how it stands, couple of days n it's done… :)
