Thanks for the thought, but the only two Mk1's that I imported from the UK, were exempt, because I was immigrating (back) to Ireland and had owned the cars for longer than 6 months, whilst living in the UK.
However, thank goodness that we don't have SORN over here - I'd have an administrational nightmare!
On the other hand, we do have really nasty car tax (for cars under 30 years old), when it is on the road - based on engine size, and up to stg?900 per year (for engines over 3000cc), and the roads are awful - hardly any motorways, and really poor levels of the 3 E's: Education, Engineering, & Enforcement… :roll:
