Haven't looked at the bidding history on e-bay before. Interesting that user 'Trilby7' put the last 10 or so bids on it, bidding it up from ?500 to ?1000. Either this was a mate trying to bid the price up (seems rather pointless if no one else is bidding) or Trilby7 really doesn't understand the basics of an auction i.e you only have to bid against others - not yourself

Cheers

Trilby was not bidding against himself - that is the number of bids that he placed and only show when some or all of them were outbid i.e. his first bid was valid until that first 10K bid was placed. You can't bid against yourself on ebay - you can only add to your maximum but each add is registered. Does seem like a lot of separate bids by trilby though!

why have E-bay not deleted his account
……just noticed that all his bids were in the last day. Suppose as quickly as E-bay cancels his accounts - he sets up another. Could they not ban his IP address? Suppose if he really wants to mess up auctions he'll find a way round that. Does seem a rather limited source of amusement

…I think he was trying to get to someone elses maximum bid….done it myself chasing something I really wanted, when someone had put in an initially high maximum bid.

Crackers are sending emails out to ebay users that ask you to update your ebay profile, when you click on the link it takes you to a void site which basically collects on the data you input ie: username & password.
This happened to an old lady user a few months ago, where she found that she had sold 4 Harley-Davidsons in one day and been sent the money. Basically her account had been hi-jacked.
Be-warned!!!! Ebay have many sites to look at in regards to this and how to find and report these people. I've had two such emails over the last few years.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
