Yeah Santa brought me the engine crane so I can keep mine standard. Not moving forwards or backwards is a distinctly non-standard feature of the car!

well i kinda bought if tbo, but it was a present for myself!!!!
i bought this well i actually swaped it for a mk1 5dr GL, which i paid 225 for, and the caddy was for sale for 350 with 11 months MOT on it, it needed tax tho, anyway heres some pics,
look at the rear, who knows why its stitting so high on the rear, its about a 10" gap between the polo wheels and the top of the arch on the rear, so once ive got it driving right, need brakes sorting, and just bits and pecies, ill be mounting the axel above the leaf springs and using new U's and 2" blocks to slamit in the weeds, cos, it'll never be a quick car (not with the 1.6 diesel in it anyway!)so i want it stupidly low!!! once it drives better and is on the floor,
ill then be painting it matt black, with the oe white colour as a stripe right thu it, think it'll look good, also i will be swaping bits form mk2 GTi stuff, ie seats, P slot wheels etc,
bits ive already bought:
2" lowering blocks (for when the axel get put ontop of the leaf springs it lowers it another 2" roughtly 100mm all in)
smoked side repeaters,
GTi duckbill splitter,
bits of the GTi (which will return to stock) to be swaped over:
crystal headlamps,
headlamp wiring upgradge,
-60 lowering springs (which im proberbly gonna cut so its real slamed!!)
front uper OMP srut brace,
front lower strut brace,
stuff i already have to go on:
P slot wheels,
big tin of matt black paint!
Stuff needed,
GTi arches D/S front and rear only,
chrome trim out of driverside door handle,
5dr chrome (front doors) trim door seals,
5dr (front doors) interior door pannels
mk2/rooco/raddo; front seats,
grille spoiler thing
but in the mean time, it *should* have the front lowering stuff of the GTi, the axel above the leaf springs with 2" lowering block fitted, and a outer respray in mat black (not gonna be mint just a quick blow over) should look pritty mean, its only slow so i want it stupidly low!!!!
cheers
alex.

Didn't get anything Golf related, but my Mum had a clearout of my Sister's old room and in one of the boxes I found a set of genuine VW clear front indicators that I bought to go on my Sister's Golf about 4 years ago. Look smart on the MK2

You'll put those mole grips into the toolbox and they'll spring open and drive you crazy! Mine always do that!

Cool - good to hear that it's up to the job…
By the way, did you manage to fit the guard ok? I had to swivel the final drive bit through 180? to make it fit…

Fingers crossed the B&Q basics models which I got (?4.95 for 3!!!) will be of a high and non-springy quality!!!
