Depressed, Did i make the right decision?
Enough was enough for me today, had so many people including my wife say the old wheels look better (Plus wife bought them for me, figure that one out) apart from wife they don't or never have owned a vw or even a mk1 come to that.
But now been on for a few days wife is thinking they don't look good
Usually i dont give a toss about what others think, it's mine, but went to dealers, see the usual guys, reversed car up as i always do, one of them keith spots wheels, "What are they, get the old ones back on"
That was it for me, Now i wonder if i made the right choice or wether they don't know what they are talking about and are just chavs
Please help, doing my nut in now, i keep looking at the car and wheels and even convincing myself they look naff, but that little voice in my head says ignore them

I prefer the steelies, give a more OEM+ look, I don't like the previous wheels a bit too 'halfords' sort of style…

I like the alloys. simply coz they look chunky and im into chunky at the moment! It is your decision at the end of the day! If youre happy with em then who cares what I (or anybody else) thinks!!

It's a pretty close contest so far in the vote…so just keep the ones YOU prefer! :tlc:

I agree. The steelies suit the car better IMO, although I am biased

Im of the above opinion too, i dont like alloys that are "normal" i only like genuine or OE ones, VW designed wheels look good on vw`s period wether steel or alloy.
I think the steelies look spot on and suit your car perfectly, what would vw partsman know anyway
If you do decide against the steelies i know a good home for them
on my Corrado this winter 8)

1000 times yes!
I think they look much better than the old ones, G60s always look sweet and they match your paint better than the black.
But of course, it's your car!

I like the steels, because the alloys are black you cant see the detail.
If you like them Pedders, keep them on, dont get rid just to please us….we've all got different tastes

Alloys just kinda get lost when looking at teh car so for me the steels.
Perhaps alloys would look more distinctive if they werent so dark.

Steels… every time. I love those wheels and I'd be tempted to put them on mine if was going to change them.

I agree as well, the steelies suit it better, although it does look a little more liek a MK2 with them on at first glance, they look so so so so so much better than those halfrauds style ones....

Got steels from ebay for ?110 inc centres and caps all new in packets, guy used to work at his local dealer, then went to wheelbase near me and had tyres toyo proxes fitted for ?160.
Thanks people for cheering me up, i always have been convinced they suit the car well, but with negative comments, bugged me.
Wife has seen vote and said you lot don't know what your talking about

Sorry Pete, the steelies look like you've taken off your alloys for a refurb, they'd work on a more ratty car(like mine  ) but yours is tip top, the alloy wheels just added that extra little bit(if you get what i mean) sorry to Shaz to! Tom

Steellies 100% if you are going for the alloys: lower your car and do other stuf but the steelies suit your car, it's colour and its style!! I prefer them but like someone else said its your choice and your car we all have different styles.
